Media Relations
Dealing
with the media can be relatively easy if you're presenting a check to a
charitable organization or hiring 300 new people. Unfortunately, it's
not always that simple. More often than not, the media wants someone to
interview because there is a news story attached. These stories are,
for the most part, generated from negative issues: plant closings,
unpopular positions on issues, accidents, law suits, and environmental
concerns.
If your company needs to deal with the media, then we can help. We're available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help with your emergencies. We can speak for you, or alternatively, we are available to conduct media training for key individuals within your company. As part of our media relations service we also work with companies to perform communications audits. These include determining how you see your company in the community, the trade, and the marketplace; and determining how those audiences see you. We can also identify and evaluate the media, community, and trade targets to whom you now direct communications, and then make recommendations on how you can improve your effort. A key component of your communication effort is what takes place within the company. If you and your employees are not clear on what you are, what you do, and what place you have in the community, it is very likely that everyone else is also unclear. |
